The film's protagonist, Maruthu (played by Vishal), is a daily-wage laborer working in a vegetable market in Rajapalayam. He leads a happy life with his grandmother, Appathaa, and his best friend, Kokkarako. His world is upended when he discovers that the powerful and corrupt municipal chairman, Rolex Pandiyan (R. K.
